Odd Lock Privacy Policy

Odd Lock is made by Abstract Syntax LLC. This policy covers the Odd Lock app for iPhone and iPad. Our website privacy policy covers the website only and does not apply to the app.
What Odd Lock collects
Nothing. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and makes no network requests. We do not receive any data from it.
What stays on your device
- Your locks. Lock names, unlock rules, recorded phrases and the apps you chose are stored only on your device, in the app's own storage, and are deleted when you delete the app.
- Screen Time. Odd Lock uses Apple's Screen Time API to block the apps you choose. Apple gives the app opaque tokens for those apps; Odd Lock cannot see their names or your usage, and never sends these tokens anywhere. Screen Time data is used only to apply and lift the block you set up.
- Camera. Used only while a “walk to unlock” is in progress, to measure how far you have moved. No images are recorded or saved.
- Microphone and speech recognition. Used only while a “speak to unlock” is in progress, to compare what you say to your unlock phrase. Recognition runs on the device when iOS supports it for your language; otherwise iOS may send audio to Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Odd Lock stores no audio and no transcript.
Children
Odd Lock is a self-control tool for the device owner. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If any of the above changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
